grunander 0 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 I recently had to replace my computer. After reinstalling my emby app on the new computer I tried to connect via the amazon fire on the tv. The amazon fire has the app on it and i can see the server on the app when I go to connect to the server it reports "taking longer than expected" and then "server unavailable" I have tried to reconnect with connect PIN and tried to manually enter the server in order to connect. I knos this is probably a simple solution but I cannot figure out how to connect to the emby server. I had to start over from scratch due to the new hard drive. I have folders with media ready to ready and have scanned the media, I can even see the movies in the library. Please help me ?
ebr 16190 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Hi. More than likely there is a firewall blocking access on the server machine. Please try running through the the connection troubleshooting on our wiki and check the firewall rules.
grunander 0 Posted October 15, 2016 Author Posted October 15, 2016 I am still not able to connect. I went through the steps in the troubleshoot but the same error occurs. Is there something else I am doing wrong ?
Luke 42085 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 In the troubleshooter did all tests succeed? Or did any fail? What did you try?
grunander 0 Posted October 16, 2016 Author Posted October 16, 2016 All of the tests succeeded. I opened the tcp on the 80 port on the firewall and I did the same on the anti virus software running on the computer It is a in house network and the server is just unavailable. I have deleted and reinstalled the app on the amazon fire and still the same results. Any other thoughts ?
Luke 42085 Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Can you try going back to the default port of 8096, or at least something other than 80? Using port 80 has a very good chance of bringing additional complication. Thanks.
