breezytm 124 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Hey guys, How do i switch server on Android TV app? Regards,
ebr 16169 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 On the Settings row (last on home screen) select "Logout ..." On the Select User screen, second row, select "Switch Server".
breezytm 124 Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 On the Settings row (last on home screen) select "Logout ..." On the Select User screen, second row, select "Switch Server". When I select "Logout breezytm" the app closes. When it opens up again, it automatically logs me back to into the same server. "Login" Start Up Behavior in settings is set to "Show Login Screen" I believe this thing should be more intuitive like it is in all the other other apps. Have a switch server option right on the same page without having to log out. It's currently this way in all the other apps except the android tv version. The only way i've been able to connect to any other servers is to logout of emby connect and reconnect. After enter pin, the second screen ask me to select a server. Whichever server i select will be the server I end up with forever until I log off
ebr 16169 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 "Login" Start Up Behavior in settings is set to "Show Login Screen" So don't you end up on the user selection screen when the app first starts...?
breezytm 124 Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 So don't you end up on the user selection screen when the app first starts...? No, it logs me right in. In both Shield and NP. Also in AFTV
ebr 16169 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 And you are positive it is set to show the login screen? I can't reproduce that so I'm not sure what is happening there.
breezytm 124 Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 And you are positive it is set to show the login screen? I can't reproduce that so I'm not sure what is happening there. Unless I am mistaken. https://vid.me/wuQN
ebr 16169 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Okay, so there must be something unusual about your environment. For instance, have you disabled all other users? Or only have one user? Even so, it should show the login screen but that would at least give me a starting point for looking at why it isn't. 1
ebr 16169 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 Oh, wait - you are logged in with Connect. That's why it is going straight in. Hit that red button that says logout of Connect...

I believe you don't see any other users because "breezytm" is not the admin account. breezytm is a standard user with a breezytm connect account. That is the same the same behavior I get on the app.emby.media webpage when i login. It logs me automatically into my last selected server. However, I do have an option to "Select Server" from the menu. It's the same behavior as well in the iOS app. I believe the difference between my setup and yours is that your username "ebr" is the admin account and probably the only account configured with an emby connect account.
breezytm 124 Posted October 14, 2016 Author Posted October 14, 2016 Oh, wait - you are logged in with Connect. That's why it is going straight in. Hit that red button that says logout of Connect... Yes I did mention that before. I do login with emby connect. If i logout of connect then I will get the option to select users since it will locate my local server automatically but the only downside is I will never get my remote servers (shared servers). I will only see locally detected servers.
speechles 2055 Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 When you use emby connect, sign out username is akin to exit. Since the server/user are merged into one pin, changing users isnt possible. The only thing you can do is logoff connect to change server/user. Were you expect sign out to rather than exit, bring you back to the initial select server/connect screen? Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Solution ebr 16169 Posted October 14, 2016 Solution Posted October 14, 2016 Yes I did mention that before. I do login with emby connect. If i logout of connect then I will get the option to select users since it will locate my local server automatically but the only downside is I will never get my remote servers (shared servers). I will only see locally detected servers. Okay, then the hole here is switching between local and Connect-shared servers. I'll look at that for a future release. 1

Ha, you are the man. Thanks in advance. I thought I was going crazy since it is in all the other apps except the android tv clients and kodi add-on.

Any chance of storing credentials? I like to switch between my two servers more often than it's comfortable to keep typing it in.
