Live TV Status?

First off, appreciate all the outstanding work the Emby Team has completed with LiveTV setup on all the other platforms (AndroidTV, web, etc.).   Reaching out to see if there is any status on when LiveTV functionality might be headed to the TVOS app?    Currently I have to use the Channels app as a workaround.    Would love to keep my TVOS users using Emby ecosystem for everything.

Seems android tv has just been updated for this, hopefully not much longer for atv. I might be living in a bubble but I would think atv to gave much larger penetration than other devices?

Odds of this happening in 2016? Just cut the cord and am trying to decide if I want to buy the "Channels" app for my appletv... its $24 so obviously I would prefer to just wait for Emby.

FWIW - I use the Channels app and it is awesome.  Completely worth the $24.

 

The huge advantage to Channels vs Emby is that the Channels guys use their own custom video player which supports decoding MPEG-2 streams directly on the ATV4.  Emby would have to transcode anything from the HDHomerun unless you are using the model with the built-in hardware transcoder (EXTEND model).

My Son has an AppleTV and is interested in using EMBY to stream LiveTV.  I see from this thread that it is not available yet.  Is the ETA for this feature?

I'm waiting for this necessary feature too. Any timeplans when LiveTV will be possible? I've networktunes with tvheadend and when emby is capable of playing LiveTV on AppleTV I'll be happy and all my similar installations (same as mine) can use only emby for all mediatypes, that will be great. Please let us know how your plans are.
