FireTV Skip behavior

I've noticed on my FireTV that if I hold down the skip button too long when trying to skip into shows it will reset playback to the beginning of the video. Has anyone else run into this issue and is there a solution? Is there anyway of changing the behavior so holding down the skip button will continuously skip instead of resetting playback position to the beginning?

I'm not sure what the repeat-rate is on that button but I imagine that it is continuously skipping ahead but maybe either too fast or in a stuttering fashion that is throwing the skip logic off.

If you can cause the problem and then send me a log following the instructions under "Android TV" here then maybe I can tell what is happening.

Ok, I'll try to pull the log tonight and send it to you.

Can you please provide this information?  Thanks.

Then add the following information to your report in the forum:

  • Include the name of whatever you played if it is a playback problem
  • The time you sent the log
  • The name of the Emby user on the local server that was logged in at the time

sorry for the delay, I sent new logs today.

Logs were sent today 10/15 at 12:12pm

Issue occurred while watching an episode of Hawaii Five0 but not while watching a film (The Goonies).

User was Vincent

The issue seems to occur primarily during recorded media which has to be transcoded.

Okay, thanks.  I believe this was improved in this last beta cycle.  So, when you get the new release in the next couple days, it shouldn't happen anymore.  Thanks.

Still happening, just uploaded a new set of logs at 7:35pm.

It happened while watching last night's episode of Elementary and NCIS LA. Same user as before.

*FireTV app version is 1.2.31a and I updated the server earlier today to 3.0.8200.0

So my Firetv didn't update to the latest version of Emby so I uninstalled it and reinstalled to get the latest version and now the issue is gone, thanks.
