Luke 42077 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Hi there, sorry to hear this. I haven't seen that error before. Can you update your mono runtime? You're running a pretty old version at this point. 4.2.3.4 would be better, or if there issue persists with that, 4.4.2.
pr3dict 33 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) Mine is broken as well. cannot start web gui. how do I update mono runtime? Nevermind. Updated mono and it fixed it. Edited October 13, 2016 by pr3dict
ddywz 2 Posted October 13, 2016 Author Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) I just ran "sudo apt-get install mono-complete" and this appeared to have fixed the issue. Gui starts fine now. On log I see: Version: 3.0.8000.0 Command line: /usr/lib/emby-server/bin/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /var/lib/emby-server -ffmpeg /usr/bin/ffmpeg -ffprobe /usr/bin/ffprobe -restartpath /usr/lib/emby-server/restart.sh Operating system: Unix 4.4.0.34 Processor count: 8 64-Bit OS: True 64-Bit Process: True Program data path: /var/lib/emby-server Mono: 4.4.2 (Stable 4.4.2.11/f72fe45 Tue Aug 30 16:43:57 UTC 2016) Application Path: /usr/lib/emby-server/bin/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe Thanks Luke! Luke 42077 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Thanks for reporting back. By the way you may also see better performance by updating sqlite.

Akilian 5 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 (edited) Thank you for this! My daughter is spoiled. She thinks I can make movies appear out of thin air. We kinda can..... Crisis averted. Edited October 13, 2016 by Akilian
Luke 42077 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Can you guys list your OS and distro version? thanks.

thelamer 0 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Me too 3.8: http://pastebin.com/raw/MfLLZMp9 Debian Jessie Kernel 3.14.5 Should probably make the mono versions deps in this repo.

We are, but we currently have a soft requirement for 4.4.2 so it's just a recommended version. We're going to change it to a hard requirement and then that should take care of this.
pr3dict 33 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Wellllllll this definitely broke my server haha. The TV library is broken. My main TV folder, where all the shows are listed, has become a folder where emby thinks a TV show itself should live. In other words, it won't show any of my shows in the library but it does show in the metadata manager. Weirdly enough all the sub folders that have the series/season/episode.file it keeps renaming it the same show over and over again. Clean database didnt work. Do I need to delete my entire database?
thynan 6 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 Hi! I had the same Problem after upgrading to 3.0.8000. A upgrade of mono-complete fixed it. Just in case some additional info will help to debug this: My Kernel Version: Linux vmhost1 4.2.0-42-generic #49~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jun 29 20:22:11 UTC 2016 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Release: Distributor ID: Ubuntu Description: Ubuntu 14.04.5 LTS Release: 14.04 Codename: trusty Old Mono Version: Mono JIT compiler version 4.2.1 (Stable 4.2.1.102/6dd2d0d Thu Dec 3 04:04:55 UTC 2015) Copyright © 2002-2014 Novell, Inc, Xamarin Inc and Contributors. www.mono-project.com TLS: __thread SIGSEGV: altstack Notifications: epoll Architecture: amd64 Disabled: none Misc: softdebug LLVM: supported, not enabled. henryford 11 Posted October 13, 2016 Posted October 13, 2016 I had the same problem, mono-complete upgrade fixed it for me too (although I compile emby myself - from the beta branch, had the problem with the latest release). I now went with the upstream repo from mono: OS: Debian Jessie (8.6) Kernel: Linux ----- 4.6.0-0.bpo.1-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 4.6.4-1~bpo8+1 (2016-08-11) x86_64 GNU/Linux Mono (new version): Mono JIT compiler version 4.6.1 (Stable 4.6.1.5/ef43c15 Wed Oct 12 09:10:37 UTC 2016) Copyright © 2002-2014 Novell, Inc, Xamarin Inc and Contributors. www.mono-project.com TLS: __thread SIGSEGV: altstack Notifications: epoll Architecture: amd64 Disabled: none Misc: softdebug LLVM: supported, not enabled. Luke 42077 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Thanks. I found the source of the crash and that's what is addressed in 3.0.8100. We are still going to be bumping up the minimum mono version though because it's for it anyway.
