Stik 0 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 After spending all day trying to determine why my fanart and thumbnails were no longer visible in Emby for Kodi, I finally determined that if the Proxy Server is configured in Kodi Settings-System-Internet Access, the Emby plug-in is unable to access any artwork. The local database will update and sync as appropriate, videos will play, and everything else seems to function normally. Just no artwork. When trying to "Cache all Artwork" the log shows the following error for each: ERROR: CCurlFile::Exists - Failed: Couldn't connect to server(7) for http://192.168.2.40:8096/emby/Items/fd70c3158d59cf79b1480a5a0a64e521/Images/Logo/0?MaxWidth=10000&MaxHeight=10000&Format=original&Tag=b951e71d0d817ad10f4ad8f9696d1aa1 When I deselect the Proxy server for Internet, the artwork is once again shown and available. Can anyone tell me if there is anyway around this? Thanks. Andy
Angelblue05 4132 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Probably worth posting on the official kodi forums to see if they have any suggestions.
Stik 0 Posted October 11, 2016 Author Posted October 11, 2016 (edited) The artwork for emby items comes from emby, Kodi needs access to emby and if you have a proxy set Kodi thinks it needs to use that for images, this causes the images to not be accessible and thus not show. If you use emby for all your media you should not need to set a proxy and all the artwork will come from the emby server. If you use a mixed set up with some items from emby and some items local and you truly need a proxy to access the internet then you might be stuffed. I appreciate the insight and I am fairly confident this is indeed the issue. What confuses me, however, is that Emby for Kodi is able to access Emby to sync/rebuild the library and provide the metadata. Is is also able to stream video files from the server both with native paths selected or with the Emby server transcoding. My music is stored on the same server, excluded from Emby, and is also accessed directly by Kodi directly without any problems. All of these can be done without any issue caused by selecting the Proxy. It seems to be only the artwork that cannot be accessed. Any thoughts on why some local routing is available, but the other local routing is attempting to go through the proxy? Thanks again for the expertise... Edited October 11, 2016 by Stik
