acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I am having problems with my music library: I started setting up my MB Music-lib: I used a mulit-disc elvis-album to test out the library function. My Files: (according to the naming conventions explained here): https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Music-naming But I can not see the single discs- everthing gets mashed up in one place. Also the (in this case very beatiful) disc-images are not shows anywhere. What am I doing wrong? example disc-image: thanks for any advise... Cheers
acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 I do not know... where can I check this? In Windows-Explorer under "Details" I could not see anything... but might be the wrong place to look...
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 With software like mp3tag, tag&rename, MusicBrainz Picard. 1
FrostByte 5392 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) If you add the column "Part of Set" explorer will show the id3tag disc # info Edited October 7, 2016 by FrostByte 2
acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 thanks... I checked with mp3tag: this is what i get:
acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) @FrostByte: That's cool - Thank you! Edited October 7, 2016 by acnp77
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Same collections but I have all dumbed into Elvis Presley\The Original Elvis Presley Collection (1996) folder and named according to disc. And complete tags, you are missing disc number tag even though you have them in that folder structure Emby is reading purely tags I believe.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) Also note the missing Album Artist tag. Edited October 7, 2016 by Happy2Play
acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 thanks. I will complete the disc number tag and the other missing ones. Your structure is: Artist->Album->Song. My Structure is: Artist->Album->Disc->Song. I want this because I have beautiful images of the discs I would like to incorporate. Is this even possible with MB?
FrostByte 5392 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I have my artwork scanned and placed in the subfolder "extrafanart" just like movies, etc that way Emby clients can display the different artwork while playing my music. 1
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Your structure is fine it is just a matter of getting your tags corrected.
acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) I added the disc number tags. now it look like this: Is there no way to display all discs with images? And then navigate to the songs? The structure is missing a layer. Or am I missing something? https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Music-naming \Music \Artist Name \Album Name \Disc 1 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 \Disc 2 1- Song.mp3 2- Song.mp3 there is also a section about images in the resp. folders. Is this not meant for MB? Edited October 7, 2016 by acnp77
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 (edited) The majority of the image types are not used. I don't believe the "disc.ext" is implemented anywhere. At least in the web client. Edited October 7, 2016 by Happy2Play
Luke 42080 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 That structure is fine but Emby apps will flatten the songs from all discs and display them together, separated by Disc # headings.
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Looks like for what you want you would have to break the disc collection into their actual album names. Instead of the 50 disc collection.
acnp77 67 Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 @Happy2Play: Thanks, thats what I might do (thank you for the link but my collection is a different one). I will just name the album-folder "album title - disc x". @Luke: Thanks for relply. Yes, that's cool for most cases. But in this special case I want to see my disc images so I might just remove the top-level folder and treat them as separate albums and rename "disc x" to ""album title - disc x" Do you know why the "folder" tab in music does not show my "disc" folder? - this could be what I am looking for... cheers
Happy2Play 9782 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 (edited) Here are a couple topic on it. More improve looks to be planned in a future release. https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/16984-view-libraries-as-they-are-stored-by-folders/ https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/37888-direct-folderfiles-access/ Edited October 8, 2016 by Happy2Play 1
acura4ever 4 Posted October 22, 2016 Posted October 22, 2016 It seem I found another problem : some artists doesn't get the album name found in the metadata manager. Compare to breaking benjamin, nin is only showing 1 album but actually like the print screen, you see 3 albums. Emby is ignoring the mp3 tag. the wretched's song is on the fragile but emby but it on broken. I saw this kind of problem on many other artists on my setup. I attached the log to be able to see more what the error is. server-63612604799.txt
