Switch to emby using remote

Hi Guys

 

Finally ordered a hdhomerun and the media center is being turned off.  This means that my Fire TV becomes the default.

Looking to really streamline the process as much as possible regarding remote handling

 

I really happy with content with Amazon and can see myself switching from amazon into the emby app and back again alot

 

Wondering if its possible to switch by shortcut into the emby app (back and forth would be cool) using a harmony remote (have a flirc plugged in)

Hi.  I don't think there is any way to setup remote shortcuts on the Fire TV like that.

 

The only thing I can think of for you to do is try going "home" from Emby and then doing your Amazon stuff and then try backing your way back to Emby.  I'm not positive that will work in all situations but it may in some.

Just FYI FireStarter no longer works with FireTV.  Amazon successfully made it obsolete, so much so the author had abandoned the original intention of the app sadly.

Not that I've seen without rooting it, which I'm always nervous to do.  Hopefully some genius comes up with something.
