Stream X265 File

Hello,

 

I run emby, on a ds1815+.

 

My computer is I7 on Ubuntu. I can read X265 movies in totem. All is ok.

 

But, i don't understand why when i stream a movie in the web interface. Emby transcode the medi in X264.

 

Why emby don't stream in X265 ?

Hi, web browsers do not support h265 yet, so that's why we transcode.

ok, its realy a problem.

 

Nobody (google or firefox) work on this feature ?

Have you test this ?

You have to build your own chromium, nobody is doing that.

 

I'm sure one day the browsers will play h265, but right now they do not.
