Quadro card for transcoding

Hi all, 

 

wondering if using a quadro card over a ati 6570 and then using the nvenc for trans coding would i notice a difference and how reliable is it?

 

currently i have a i3 3450 and a ati 6570 sometimes when i have 2-3 transcodes going it hits 100% cpu usage and one of the streams starts to struggle.

The NVENC engine is independent from the GPU, so it doen's matter what GPU you have because for transcoding it will use the NVENC engine.

but it still has to be a supported GPU? which looks like the k620 is. so do you think it will lower my cpu usage enough to be of any use?

3-5% usage of the gpu is about par per transcode - looks like it will give you a 50% increase over all

 

your quad can do more than 2 threads at once which the normal GPU are limited to 2
