videos playing letterboxed

hello, I've been having an issue with emby theater the last few weeks, all of my dvd rips have suddenly started displaying with black bars around all four sides only when using emby theater. all other video playback programs on my pc display them correctly, even the emby web app displays them correctly, its only theater that displays them shrunk down with borders on all four sides, the apple tv app does this as well but im less concerned about that one

Hi, what are your video settings in the app?

They're the default settings, I've never changed them until now. I tried using Maeve but that just results in the audio playing with no video so I changed back to the defaults

any suggestons? videos played just fine till one of the more recent updates

Try the evr+ renderer

Are you using folder rips, or converting to MKV?

Generally I'm using either Mkv or mp4

Sometimes avi for older videos I made years ago
