jimboz333 1 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 It looks like I may need to put a fresh install of windows on my computer. Will that wipeout my server and my cache for Media Browser Server? also would it mess with my server settings? I don't think it will because the server is totally separate.
shaefurr 1340 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) To clarify, MB server is running on a seperate machine from the one you need to reinstall windows on? MB server and its cache are stored locally on the machine it was installed on, unless you've specific a custom cache path in the dashboard. Edited January 16, 2014 by shaefurr
jimboz333 1 Posted January 16, 2014 Author Posted January 16, 2014 Nope it would be on the same computer. Unless there is someone who is more of a computer expert than myself that can help me out with some issues.
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 (edited) Your MBS information is stored in c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/mediabrowser-server. You'll need to back this up if you wish to retain the information. If you store your metadata within your media folders, setting up MediaBrowser server is as simple as re-entering your Media Folders in the server dashboard. I have also have my imagesbyname folder stored on the same drives as my media collection so if you do that, you would have to update that as well. What are the issues that are forcing a re-install?
