Music Videos without Music

Hi all,

 

Long time fan of MediaBrowser here.  Having just upgraded to MB3, having used MB2 for many years, I am now getting an odd issue I have never seen before.  Every time I add Music Videos to the server, which are organized the correct way, I also get 'Music' showing in the web client and MediaBrowser Classic.  Now I have no actual music in these folders, only music videos.  Any idea why 'music' keeps showing and how I can remove it from the EHS, along with the web client, whilst still keeping 'Music Videos'?  

 

Sorry if this has been answered but I certainly couldn't find it in the forums!

Music videos are combined with music, so if u had actual mp3s by "random artist" and also music videos by that same "random artist" all music videos and songs all show up in the same collection. So u can't get rid of the music collection on the ehs because that's where all music (videos & songs) show up under

But, as my music videos still correctly show under the 'Music Videos' heading in the EHS, can I not hide the 'Music' title?  If I currently go into the 'Music' section then it simply tells me that I have no music at all.  This is probably due to the fact that I dont have the metadata for any of my music videos (not needed as I just go my video name). 

 

I don't want my music organized by MediaBrowser as I've always found it slower and more cumbersome then the standard Media Center music screen.  I'm more then happy with being able to browse my music videos the same way as I could on MB2.  Is there really no way around this?  What about removing the other un-wanted titles (like Favorites) from the EHS?  If a user does not require this functionality then all it does is clutter everything up and makes it look far less sleek as MB2.

To get rid of the favourites collection go into the settings in the ehs screen (gear/wrench) and find the option to display favourites and unchecked it.

 

As for displaying ur music videos, I'm not sure if there is a way around it because I dont have any music videos set up so maybe someone can give u better advice... BUT, u can also try making a new collection, name it music videos but set it as a movies or home videos collection in the server config, then u will have to do all the metadata yourself tho. That might work for u, unless someone else has a better solution I'm not aware of
