LycraLout 0 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I've recently become a lifetime member so I can exploit syncd content during my rail commute. Sync appears to have worked. But when I'm offline, emby wants me to connect to a server. Won't let me get past the login screen / server selection. I can see the files have syncd down because they're visible in MX Player. But I'd rather not use that. I want the watched status etc. Am I missing the point? Does sync only bring the files down to play on a native player? Does emby app need to have sight of the server at all times, even for syncd content? I'm using a Kindle Fire 8.9 HDX. App installed via Amazon Appstore. Not listing as needing an update so assume it's the latest version available to Kindle Fire.
ebr 16169 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 It is a work in progress. We have the syncing part done and, as you've discovered, you can play the files with any player on the device. We are currently working on the ability to access them via Emby when offline.
LycraLout 0 Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 Thanks for the response. Good to know I'm not going mad or doing anything wrong. Say I manage to get a shoddy connection to my server and login, will the app favour the syncd files rather than trying to stream over the poor connection?
LycraLout 0 Posted September 13, 2016 Author Posted September 13, 2016 OK. Cool. That'll keep me going until Offline access comes into the app. From your previous response it looks like it is being worked on now. It's not just a distant feature on the roadmap.
