2WheelDave 0 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 I am setting up a new HTPC. I have been following a guide that is apparently a little out of date! My PC is running Windows 8.1. Before installing MB I added Media Center to the PC. Today I downloaded and installed MB3 Server and MB3 Classic. Did I need MC? Can I remove it after the MB programs were installed? MBC does seem to run in Media Centre, but if everything works without it, I'm all for simplifying!
Tikuf 663 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Mbc is a media center plugin so it wont run without media center. Are you sure you installed media browser classic and not media browser theater (which doesn't require wmc)
WWWestern 94 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 For MBC required backend is MCE. MBT is stand-alone product that not required MCE. But MBT is on alpha stage now, with all the consequences and limitations. Some features not yet added or could removed in any future builds.
2WheelDave 0 Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks for the info. I did install MBC. I also downloaded the "Chocolate" theme, but it really didn't seem to make a difference to the appearance of the initial screens. I am going to spend the day on it today though, should have it figured out!

Just installing it doesn't switch you to that theme as you can have multiples installed at the same time.
