dukejames 3 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 (edited) Hello, I'm testing out the new Emby Theater Universal App and can't log on manually. I've tried it against 2 different Emby Servers, one running on Windows (Local PC) and another on a Ubuntu Server. After entering the DNS Name, I.P. or web address (excluding port in the URL, I always get an error. When connecting to the local system, it takes about 10 seconds until it tiimesout with the error: "We're unable to connect to the server right now. Please ensure it is running and try again." Trying to connect to the Ubuntu server throws the same error. I saw the same complaint in the Windows Store review and in the forums. However the user said when he used the DDNS name, it worked. I don't use this feature though. Although I doubt it would be of consequence, I tried turning off the Windows Firewall when trying to connect locally. Does anyone know why I can't log on? I've attached a log as reference. Thanks! Log.txt Edited September 10, 2016 by dukejames
Luke 42078 Posted September 10, 2016 Posted September 10, 2016 Thanks for the report. It's being looked into. Workaround for right now is using your external address.
dukejames 3 Posted September 12, 2016 Author Posted September 12, 2016 Thanks but that's not working. i guess I've got the loopback issue. I'll wait for the next update and try again.
dukejames 3 Posted September 17, 2016 Author Posted September 17, 2016 I can now connect to an Emby Server on the network, but not to an Emby Server (localhost) installed on the same PC with Emby Theater installed. Is this a known issue?

Guest asrequested Posted September 17, 2016 Posted September 17, 2016 Loopback is automatically enabled when I start the app. Isn't that how it's supposed to be?
dukejames 3 Posted September 18, 2016 Author Posted September 18, 2016 Luke - Wow! I avoided Windows 8 and didn't realize this limitation. Thanks again Luke! It's working now!
rmarcuse 6 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Followed your directions Luke and it's working now. Thanks.
