No Default Folder View?

I'm new to Emby, but an old Media Browser hand from back in the WMC days. Like a lot of folks, I'm running an ancient HTPC, but have recently turned an Xbox One into my primary playback/entertainment device. I downloaded the Emby Theater UWP app for it last night and tested it out. Really fast and was very impressed! The only thing I don't care for is that I cannot seem to find a way to default into folder view. In the old days, I would choose Movies or TV and it would automatically display folder view. Is that not doable with Emby? Seems like such a simple thing to implement and nothing more than a checkbox on the server interface. Maybe I'm missing something? I'm sure this is doable with themes, but it doesn't appear that there any available yet for Emby Theater.

Hi, did you explore server settings at all? Library -> Display -> Enable plain folder view

I did, but that doesn't appear to allow me to default to that view. All that does is add folder view category to the menu.

 

I want my default view in Movies or TV, etc to simply be folder view. I'm not looking to choose the folder view category from the menu. Does that make sense?

Have you explored user settings that allow you to change view order? Click user icon in top right.

I've changed views on the user so that it displays My Media, which is great for a landing page, exactly how I want it. So currently it shows Movies, TV, Music, etc.

 

However, as soon as I click into one of those objects I cannot find a way to default the view to folder view, which is what I am after, instead it goes to suggestions. My only option to get folder view is to go into library settings on the server, choose display, and choose display a folder view to show plain media folders, but all that does is an additional object to the landing page. So now I have Movies, TV, Music, Folders. When I click on Folders, I see Collections, Movies, TV, Music, which then let's me get to the views I want when I choose Movies, TV, Music, etc. That basically ends up being a redundant layer. Ideally I want to hit the landing page, choose Movies or TV and it drops me into folder view for that category, not suggestions. So for Movies it would default me to Movies and for TV it would default me to Shows.  

 

I really apologize if I am making this more confusing than it needs to be. Hope I am explaining things clearly!

So are you want the enhanced option but just land on Movies or Show or remove the enhanced options and only have Movies or Shows?  The tab landing select option is a feature request.

 

As for Folder View folder view per library that was removed for the UI awhile ago, but you can manually manipulate the user config.xml, until that is removed also.
