Second Music Library folder not scanned

Recommended Posts

Posted

When I put two folders in the Music library, one is not getting scanned (the first one).  When I put each folder in a different Music Library, they both get scanned right.  I have tried this with fresh install of the stable and the beta release and I get the same result.

This was reported by CoolDreamZ in this old post but I think this is a problem that needs attention.

Thank you.

Hi, what are the folder paths?

/export/data/music and /export/data3/Music

what makes you think it isn't getting scanned?

When I put folders in different music libraries, I get Artists (or album or whatever) that I don't get when they are both in the same library.  When I compare with the directory structure, it is every artists that are in the same folder that doesn't appear in the library.

Artists, albums, etc. from the directory that isn't scanning are not in the 'Reports' section either and when I do a search I can't find them.

On the server, I do:

cd /var/lib/emby-server/logs

cat *.txt | grep /export/data/music

and it returns nothing...

Just to be sure it wasn't a permission problem, I did:

sudo chmod a+rwx -R /export/data/music

Then hitted 'scan library' and nothing changed.

Is there something else I can do to track down what's happening?

Can you run a library scan, then provide the emby server log? thanks.

Are you sure you added both music folders? can you show a screenshot of library setup? thanks.

Yes, I'm sure.  Here are the screenshots.

Changing the folder name resolved the problem (from /export/data/Music to /export/data/music).  However, I'm sure there is something wrong because I tried it multiple times over several days with freshly installed and different versions of emby-server.  I hope this helps resolving the issue.

Thanks for your help.
