acarballo 0 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 I'm testing the Emby Server (love it!) with the Kodi plugin for Emby but I cannot seem to find a way to enable Live TV. I can see all of my recordings but I can't find the Live TV. I'm running plugin v2.2.19 in OpenElec. Thanks. /Antonio
xnappo 1611 Posted September 5, 2016 Posted September 5, 2016 What are you using for your TV backend? Live TV support in Kodi it separate from library addons. There is no Live TV addon for Emby server right now.
acarballo 0 Posted September 5, 2016 Author Posted September 5, 2016 (edited) I'm using the latest Emby server that supports the HDHomerun tuners. I'm trying to move away from MythTV. I had it (MythTV) for a year but the Kodi client is not as user-friendly as the cable company's DVR. Anyway, I did find the area for the Live TV stuff but this feature is just too raw for my wife to use. I was hoping that its interface was similar to the web version. Sadly it was not. Thanks for your response. /Antonio Edited September 5, 2016 by acarballo
mellomade 141 Posted September 6, 2016 Posted September 6, 2016 As @@xnappo stated Live TV is not possible via the plugin. It supports recordings but not Live TV. For just Live TV from the HDHomerun devices - and if you are using Jarvis and above - try the native PVR client for the HDHomerun from the Kodi repo: http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=250 It is great for just Guide info and Live TV.
xnappo 1611 Posted September 7, 2016 Posted September 7, 2016 (edited) I do think it would be awesome to directly support Kodi with Emby TV - and probably not even all that hard. It would be a separate project. If TWC stops marking all my cable with CCI byte 'copy once' once the Charter merger completes I will be looking in to it. xnappo Edited September 7, 2016 by xnappo 1
