osak00006 12 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Hi Guys, So there seems to be massive problems scraping the Disney Animated Shorts series into Emby. It either scans in as like 100 different TV shows, one for each folder, which is a nightmare... or it scans in from 1934 forward, skipping the earlier seasons, and then doesn't have any idea what to do with them... Any guidance?
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) You have to looks at how the metadata provider list them first. See how TVDB lists them Edited September 3, 2016 by Happy2Play
osak00006 12 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 TV Series. Scans in fine in Kodi. Disaster in Emby. Hoping for a fix Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Well what is the folder structure and how are they named?

osak00006 12 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) Oddly, I have Looney Tunes, which follows the same season year naming convention, and that scans in fine. I've tried deleting all my kodi metadata, but no luck Sent from my HTC6535LVW using Tapatalk Edited September 3, 2016 by osak00006
Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 can you show some screenshots of the folders at various levels? thanks.

Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 thanks. and what's in the parent folder? and what do you see in the web app?
osak00006 12 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) thanks. and what's in the parent folder? and what do you see in the web app? Not sure i understand your question about the parent folder. My TV paths only contains on location, the root TV directory. Then each series gets its own folder... TV/SeriesName/SeasonXX The Disney Animated Shorts folder just contains an actors folder, from kodi, which is empty, and then the season subfolders, each containing videos. No metadata or images of any kind, at the moment. TV -> Disney Animated Shorts -> Season 19XX Here's what I'm seeing in Emby, after trying to rescan it again... each season shows up as a series... if I click into them, it says Media Type: Inherent Edited September 3, 2016 by osak00006
Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 what folder did you add in emby library setup, and what content type did you select?
Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 can i see the contents of the series folder? thanks.

Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Can you also provide an emby server log: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/739-how-to-report-a-problem/ Thanks.

osak00006 12 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 http://pastebin.com/JqBtQ7CL This is my first time pulling an Emby log. Let me know if you need anything else
Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Ok, thanks. It appears at some point you customized the content type of the Disney Animated Series folder to TV. Perhaps we should rename that to TV Library because that's really what it is. So when you do that you're telling the system that every folder underneath that is a tv series. You'll need to use the metadata manager to undo that. if you can't access it due to the morphed structure, then shutdown the server, locate /usr/lib/emby-server/config/system.xml and just remove the ContentTypes section.
Happy2Play 9780 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 (edited) Near the bottom of the system.xml you will see this <ContentTypes> <NameValuePair> <Name>:/mnt/user/TV/Disney Animated Shorts</Name> <Value>tvshows</Value> </NameValuePair> </ContentTypes> That is what you will delete. Replace with this or just save without it and it will regenerate the node. <ContentTypes /> And then perform a library scan. Edited September 3, 2016 by Happy2Play
osak00006 12 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Making progress, but now it's only scanning some of the episodes... for example the 2016 season doesn't seem to be scanning properly... and what's even odder, it' only pushes about 70 or 500+ episodes it does scan, to Emby for Kodi server-63608459821.zip
Luke 42078 Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 For now let's just concentrate on what it looks like in the web app.
