Is the commercial ($500.00) version of Visual Studio required? Can one use another IDE or the free Visual Studio Express packages?

Thinking I might want to eventually try my hand at some plugins and maybe some web client tweaking.

Thanks. Have been reviewing the Wiki on Github for a few days now. Will see what I can "break" when I have a bit of free time.

Yeah, c# express should be fine for plug-in development.

I have used Visual Studio Express for Desktop. I have been able to build MBT with it so don't see why it wouldn't work for plugins too.

I actually have one half written.  The problem is playback.  We have to play back the content via a YouTube sanctioned player and that is tricky on some platforms - although not all - the web client should be able to do it no problem and probably MBT too but it just hasn't gotten that far.  MBC is a lost cause for YT playback I'm afraid.

Also, we can't download the videos (unless they are your own personal ones or are marked as downloadable).
