Beta to Dev?

3.1.140 beta over the top of dev, still says dev and wants to restart to install 3.1.6095.3092 dev.

 

Not fixed, not happy about this. Will edit the XML.

@@Luke No, but I did get the new installers could using/reusing old setup.exe files cause this?

I used installer downloaded from the website, didn't use old installer. I installed it repeatedly in various ways (shut server down, installed with server running, installed and rebooted, etc, etc) and tried restarting the server multiple times afterward, as well as rebooting the server itself. Every time it was on 140 dev and asked me to reboot for the latest dev version that it had just downloaded and installed. The only thing I didn't do was stop the scheduled task that checks for updates because that kind of defeated the purpose to my mind.

 

It wasn't until I shut the server down, manually edited the xml and then installed the beta that it finally stopped trying to install dev.

I was stuck in the Dev build and wasn't changed the system.xml files but still got the dev build after downloading Beta from web site.

 

Did what you found, shutdown, edit XML and install Beta. Problem solved

Well don't do that because it doesn't help us solve the problem. Please provide a server log when that happens. thanks.

Now I know why I'm stuck on Dev releases !  I've been pulling whats left of my hair out trying to find out where the stable/beta/dev switch had gone

This should be fixed in 3.1.154.  You should not have to touch the config file anymore. You can just install the beta from the website if you want to move back to beta from dev. Thanks.
