rsaxman 0 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 (edited) Hey Folks, I have used MB2 for a long time and had it tweaked to my liking and looking pretty sharp. Since upgrading to MB3, I am at a loss as to how to replicate some of this. I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Here is what I had: Chocolate theme. Intial screen showed custom genre icons in a coverflow fashion. No desription at this point. In MB2 I assigned these icons in the configurator. Result looked similar to this: http://i39.tinypic.com/2ymhpfp.jpg Secondary screen then showed the movies within this collection again in a cover flow fashion. This is who the second level screen looked like http://www.viewfinderdesign.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2009/06/mediacentre_movies.jpg 3rd level was movie synopsis and play button I kept the same custom backdrop behind all of this. No movie art I can't seem to replicate this with MB3. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Rob Edited January 13, 2014 by rsaxman
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Have you installed the Chocolate Theme for MediaBrowser Classic? If you're using Media Browser Theater (MBT), there are no themes and configuration is light. MBT is early in its life cycle.
techywarrior 689 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Also, adding custom genre images can be done in the MBS web client. (Not sure exactly where you are stuck configuring your new MB3 setup so if you can give us some more details we will try and help you out)
ebr 16169 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 You didn't say what client app you were using but, if using MBC, you should be able to replicate your previous setup pretty closely.
rsaxman 0 Posted January 13, 2014 Author Posted January 13, 2014 I am using the MBC client. I can not seem to find where to assign the genre icon in the config.
ebr 16169 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 It looks like what you are calling a genre icon is actually just a media folder (that you are associating with genres). Is that the case? If so, just bring up that media folder in the web client (server dashboard and click the MediaBrowser icon) and hit the "Edit" button. Then Images and upload image.
ebr 16169 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Have you been through the setup guides in the KB?
bloodtaker 71 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 i did find something odd chocolate is missing from the classic config if you click the image it will be full size to better see what is going on
rsaxman 0 Posted January 14, 2014 Author Posted January 14, 2014 I think I have figured out most of this. Still trying to figure out how to add a custom back drop
bloodtaker 71 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 custom backdrops are done inside the webclient
techywarrior 689 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 (edited) The easiest way is on the machine that MBS is installed. Just go to http://localhost:8096/mediabrowser/ If you need to access it remotely you can use the IP of your server instead of "localhost". You can also use the windows network name. EDIT Oops, you said "where in" not "where is". lol Just click pencil icon in the top left on the dashboard. That will take you to the meta editor. It's really easy to add custom stuff there for movies, tv, etc. The trickier part is if you want to customize the main media folders, genres etc. It's best for those to click on the item in the web client and then when you go to the page for that item you should see a pencil icon. ebr 16169 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 There are very detailed tutorials in the guide section for most of this. Some of the images may look a little different due to the updated styling we are using now but most of the functionality is covered.
