MndWrp 101 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 (edited) Hi guys... i just noticed my unset libraries containing series have an issue... I have a few unsets for things like documentaries and animation and before it worked fine, movies were identified as movies and shows as shows... now though the shows have lost all metadata and behave as if they're simple folders... Before... Documentaries/ -- cosmos (identified as a series) ---- Season 1 ------- files.... -- The fog of war (identified as a movie) ---- files.... Now Documentaries/ -- cosmos (folder) ---- Season 1 (folder) ------- files.... -- The fog of war (identified as a movie) ---- files.... I know you can set top folders as either media type via the metadata manager and i tried but i get the same result... like this Documentaries/ -- Series (set as tv) ---- cosmos (folder) ------ Season 1 (folder) -------- files.... -- movies (set as movies) ---- The fog of war (identified as a movie) ------ files.... But i get the same results... But i did notice that this started when you made the change that allows individual settings per library... maybe a clue there? Edited August 29, 2016 by MndWrp
MndWrp 101 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 what do you mean behave as simple folders? I mean it behaves as if it's nested folders.. I see the series poster, I enter that and see a poster for season one without any metadata or your usual nice series layout, I enter that and see the content but again without any metadata... although when i edit the metadata of the files (in metadata manager) the file info is intact.. descriptions, episode titles and number, overviews.... thanks for the help !
Happy2Play 9782 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Not sure but wasn't Unset always a plain folder view? Only have it set up on a test machines so I am not sure. But here what ebr said in another topic asking the exact same thing It is the content types on the library that allows us to create specialized presentations for them. So, if yours is unset then we have no way of doing that. That is a limitation of that type (or lack of type).I would search around here for other posts on setting up anime libraries to see how others have successfully done it.
MndWrp 101 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 the plain folder view is called "home videos" i think... the unset still have some fetched metadata ... or at least it still does for movies only right now and by metadata i don't mean having suggestions tabs, but basic show descriptions, artists, ratings etc...
Happy2Play 9782 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Can you post a screenshot of a specific example.
MndWrp 101 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 I just found something strange to add the the pile... If I enter a show that is located in an unset library via "latest media" on the home page I get this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzZRi0BntxVETE5uRERnTm9pVWM If I enter the same show via the actual unset library I get this: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0BzZRi0BntxVERC02ZG5SWkNPZEE
Luke 42080 Posted August 29, 2016 Posted August 29, 2016 Can you attach the screenshots here so that we don't need to go into google drive? thanks.
MndWrp 101 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Posted August 29, 2016 Can you attach the screenshots here so that we don't need to go into google drive? thanks. no problem... i thought that was a better way to do it here they are If I enter a show that is located in an unset library via "latest media" on the home page If I enter the same show via the actual unset library
