Server Backup - Collections and Devices

Should the Server Conf Backup Plugin also do the Collections Folder under Data?

 

It already does Playlists

 

Does the devices folder also need backing up especially if you have done your own device config?

The issue is that Collections have proven to not transfer reliably so they are disabled for now.

Oh no! That's...unfortunate. Is there a workaround or alternative procedure you could suggest for restoring Collections as well?

 

​I'm planning on using Server Configuration Backup to migrate to new hardware, but I've spent a TON of time creating north of 80 different movie collections, each with at least 3 titles. Can the Collection data folders, XML sheets, etc. be simply copied over instead?

I believe the issue is the user IDs that are embedded within that data that change on the new system.

 

I think you can copy them over with a bit of manual tinkering.  We need to look at how to make them backup/restore more easily.

I wish I saw this before I uninstalled the emby server last night

 

I had many customs collection, it done by time and as well pulling some hair from the head

 

Pulling hair is not an option anymore, no more hair left!!!!!!!!!!
