Mister Nobody 0 Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Hi, I am running the latest version of Emby on Windows 7 SP1 x64 and I can't seem to get the parental controls to work as I would expect: The server region is set to New Zealand but the metadata for censorship rating/classification is coming through with US ratings, so when I set the allowed ratings in parental control it either over or under filters. For example, if I set the maximum rating to NZ-M, some R rated movies are shown. If I set the maximum to NZ-PG, no PG-13 movies are shown. I can sort of resolve this if I change the server region setting to US but the ratings are not an exact match (e.g. some films that get a US PG-13 get an NZ-M rating, others get an NZ-R rating) so it would be good to get it working with the NZ ratings (and without having to create multiple collections). I've seen a few old posts with similar issues (e.g. British ratings) and admins have either posted that this issue has been fixed or can be fixed by changing the order of the metadata provider and refreshing the metadata at the folder level but it had no luck with this. Maybe I have missed something? Any suggestions appreciated. Thanks
Luke 42080 Posted August 24, 2016 Posted August 24, 2016 We are limited by the data that the internet metadata providers have. If you can produce a specific example, then we can try to explain why it got a US rating. However, even with a US rating this should be OK because we convert all ratings to a numeric value for parental control purposes. We give NZ a value of 9: https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Emby/blob/master/MediaBrowser.Server.Implementations/Localization/Ratings/nz.txt which is the same value we give US-R rating, in case that helps. So that's why R-rated movies are visible. We give NZ-PG a value of 5, which is the same value we give US-PG, so that is why PG-13 titles are not shown.
