WWWestern 94 Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 When some items are stored on an external device (such as an external disc), and then the device is not connected for any reason, scanning of the Llibrary turns into hell. At some stage, scan is virtually suspended, ie crawling very slowly, and can sometimes take half an hour or more. CPU is engaged in the task up to 98%, the index page in dash almost empty and no media folders available, clients also don't see anything. The logs populated with infinite number of errors. The only way to overcome this - removal from the Root folder (at the time) the virtual folder (physical folder where stored shortcuts to actual paths), which is linked to an external device. I'm missing something, and there is another more user-friendly way? Or is it possible to implement more benign protocol? Luke?
