Problem/Bug: Sometimes new files get wrong "added date"

Hi all.

 

I frequently see a problem when adding new episodes of tv shows. When they are added in the scheduled content scan, they get an added date of 01/01/1904 instead of today's date.

 

I'm running emby server latest version on a win7 media center machine, using the WMC add-on.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How are you adding these new shows?  Do they come with any other files (like a .nfo)?

 

What does the file system show for the creation dates of the files?

 

What option have you chosen for Date Added in the metadata configuration (file system date or import date)?

1. The files are copied over the network from my workstation to the htpc.

2. They do not have nfo files, only video/sub (if any) files are added.

3. Will show the creation date = when it was downloaded.

 

4. Where do I find that?

For number 4 go to Dashboard-Library-Advanced-Date added behavior for new content .

4. It was set to file creation.

I just had another incident where it happened, so below you'll see how it looks on screen.

Amazingly, until I added the 2nd screenshot above, I had not noticed the line "Configure how date added is determined ....."
