dracozny 0 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 The library scan sometimes completes, but lately has just stopped updating. And in completely random points. Sometimes it does it at 51% sometimes 64% 82% a few times it wouldn't even make it out of the teens. once it stops progressing it will stay that way for hours or even days if I let it. My only solution is to stop the scan and restart Emby and hope that it will actually complete. if it doesn't then rinse and repeat. On those few times that a scan completes, it generally is done in less than 3 minutes or so. This is not a dedicated box unfortunately, It's also my desktop PC. Linux mint 17.3, Linux 3.19.0-32-generic #37~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Thu Oct 22 09:41:40 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux 16GB Ram, i7-3200, here is the log file started from this morning.
Luke 42077 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Hi, welcome. I would suggest removing all plugins and seeing if the issue persists with only the core server. I would also suggest updating to mono 4.4.2. Let us know how it goes. Thanks.

Thanks. updating mono got rid of an error. library scan seems to be getting bogged down by the Kodi-syncQueue plugin. after removing all plugins it scanned everything in 40 seconds flat. Once i added the Kodi plugin it took longer but completed. I ran it again a minute or so later and it stopped at 60%
Sireone 6 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Seeing the same issue. Library scan stuck at 13% for hours. Have media that hasn't scanned in several days. I've also updated to Mono 4.4.2, still no success. Can't get my library to scan in new media.

The problem solved switching to Ubuntu 16.04.1. I know it's not the Emby server solution, but at least it could help.

I wanna say 3.0.6060.0 had the same issue too.

Sireone 6 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 I would suggest removing all plugins and seeing if the issue persists with just the core server. That;s the first thing I tried. Same issue. The only plugin I had was the Kodi Sync Queue. Sireone 6 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Then I would try removing that plugin and seeing if the issue persists with only the core server. I've since removed the plugin (this morning). Same issue. Now stuck at 12% after 30mins. It'll go like this for hours or until the Emby service crashes. I can stop the process now and send another log file?
jurmb84 281 Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 Another user posted a log that showed the SyncQueue plugin getting locked when trying to update a record... That is what is taking so long... I have found where the issue is occurring and I am working as fast as possible to get a solution out... Sorry for the inconvenience... I will post back when I have a new release... If you do not want to wait, you can go back to the 1.0 version as the first 1.1 version is where the issue first started... 1

I don't have the plugin installed, but it still looks like it hang at 12%. When I checked again, the service crashed again. I'll go back to the 1.0 SyncQueue plugin but I gotta keep Emby running. Luke, here's the latest log file after the service was started and when it crashed (about 45 mins). https://paste2.org/c5NL2aNy
