Hello Emby,

I've been a Plex user for several years now, but their recent PMS updates have basically *broken* my server for my Primary use-cases for it (.wtv file playback and accessing a live tuner from my HDHomeRun Prime).  Kodi serves a purpose for me (the SPMC Android TV fork bitstreams lossless Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD-MA to my AVRs on my three NVidia Shields), but it's not a proper "total solution" for me (and especially my wife and kids), and I don't think it ever will be.  My wife really liked Plex... but as I said above, Plex is currently *broken*, so... I finally took the plunge and installed the Emby server last night, and I wish I'd done this sooner.  So far, this seems like a GREAT product.  I think this could be THE software solution I've been in search of.  I have just a couple n00b questions, hopefully some of the experienced Emby Vets in this community can help me out:

1) Even though the server indicates that my entire library has been scanned, when I go access it on a playback device (like one of my Shields), it takes a very long time to "find" everything in a given show or particular library of movies and assign it a poster/backdrop, and a clickable "entry" that can be played... one particular library is so large that an "Android timed out" error the first 5-6 times I tried, before a very slow process of finding all my movies churned through.

Is this a one-time-thing?  Or a one-time-per-playback-device thing?  Or is this normal with Emby?  Anything I can do to help speed it up?

2) Four or five years ago, when I first got into HTPC and set up a Win7 Machine for WMC and inserted a CableCard into a Ceton InfiniTV, I dabbled with "MediaBrowser".  I still have that "MediaBrowser" installed (along with other items like Media Center Master and Media Center Studio), and it still appears as a clickable option within WMC (even though I rarely use it).

Is there a way to give this new-and-improved Emby a clickable WMC option?  If so, should I blow away that old MediaBrowser first?  Is Emby relying on something like that MEdia Center Master to still produce backdrops/art, or is that all internalized to the Server installation program these days?

3) I haven't yet figured out a way to configure Emby to bitstream DTS-HD-MA and/or Dolby TrueHD from my NVidia Shield to my AVR.  Is that because the Emby app for Android TV isn't (yet) capable of that, or is there a pro-tip someone can offer me on how to make it work?

If it's not a feature yet, is it something that is planned-for-development or already in the works?

I've not been at this for long, but so far Emby feels like it has a TON of potential to replace BOTH Plex and Kodi/SPMC for me, and be a one-stop-shop for basically all my media needs.... any help/advice would be appreciated.

There is an Emby client for WMC.  See http://emby.media/emby-for-windows-media-center.html for a download and if you scroll down in the forum list you'll see it has its own forum.

Emby doesn't need a metadata scraper, it has its own.  You can configure it in the Metadata section of the admin dashboard.  You can edit metadata in the metadata manager or on a single item by clicking the icon of three vertical dots and selecting edit info or edit images.
