Ally68 0 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 New to the program but love it so far. Twice I have run it this issue when I try to start video status bar goes full but movie never starts None of them will. If I unplug roku plug it back in then all is good. Also what video quality is good for 720 mkv files on 60 inch tv Thanks
Tikuf 663 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 (edited) Debug Server & Ffmpeg Logs please. I need to see if it roku or server thanks. Also what video quality is good for 720 mkv files on 60 inch tv Very subjective I would suggest testing changing the bitrate settings in the roku until you have something you are happy with. uber_garat 0 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Been running into some similar problems. I just turned on full debugging as well, but here are some logs as I was trying to determine what files were working and which ones weren't the other night. When I have a little more time, I'll see about actually getting some more comprehensive debugging setup. logs.zip
gcw07 347 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Are you seeing that resetting the roku fixes it like the first person?
uber_garat 0 Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Are you seeing that resetting the roku fixes it like the first person? Just tried. Interesting, yes it does. Network transport weirdness, or just not updating the Roku information when updates happen? Anyway, at least have a work around. Any additional logging or specific debug I can do to help pin down the root cause, let me know. Happy to help!
techywarrior 689 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I have actually started experiencing the same thing. Every video I have tried lately is causing the problem. I can't use any streaming service until I reboot the Roku when this happens (like, I can't watch Hulu if the MB movie never starts). Attached is a zip file with three different ffmpeg logs (but for the same movie) Trying to play the video in the web client (FF) gives the following error. I get a similar error about the codec in IE (and presumably Chrome): if ((videoStream.Codec || '').toLowerCase().indexOf('h264') == -1) { (I know it's not related to the Roku app but the problem may not be in the Roku app, or at least this is related) ffmpeg logs.zip
FrostByte 5392 Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I've pretty much got into the habit of rebooting my Roku every day before I start watching movies. If I don't then things stop and buffer like crazy. I'm usually good for the night if I reset Roku though.
rotis 0 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Anyone figure this one out? I've had the same issue here, and was able to reproduce it on the IOS7 app as well as over a web browser. Sometimes if I wait long enough the Roku ends up rebooting itself. It seems like however this mkv was encoded, Media Browser doesn't like it. Thanks
gcw07 347 Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 Does every video do the same thing? If not, it may be something specific to the videos themselves.
