emir0n 0 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 First of all, Hi ! and sorry for opening a support ticket, but im stuck :|I reinstalled my openmediavault server from the 1.9 version to 3.0.30 - clean install, after that the problem started. During the library scan, the emby service crashes. It starts, does few % and goes down. After a restart it reaches the same % and few more and crashes again. I restarted the service approx 5 times to get to 60%. I turned debug logging on - maybe you can point me to the right direction. I attached my last 3 logs. Thanks ! emby1.txt emby2.txt emby3.txt
Luke 42077 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hi, welcome. I would try updating to the latest version of Emby server and then report back. Thanks!

emir0n 0 Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 bump ... im grateful for anything ... else im force to just stop using emby alltogether :|
Luke 42077 Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 the server appears to be unable to launch ffmpeg for whatever reason. I think if you fix that, then this will resolve the issue. I don't know why it's having an issue, possibly execute permissions. You can also try downloading ffmpeg and customizing the path under playback -> transcoding http://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/

Luke 42077 Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 make sure the emby service account has execute permissions on the files you downloaded.
emir0n 0 Posted August 13, 2016 Author Posted August 13, 2016 make sure the emby service account has execute permissions on the files you downloaded. well, just to be sure i gave 777 permissions on the files, but no luck - same behaviour ... getting to think that that OMV build is cursed
Luke 42077 Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 have you tried posting in the omv forums? obviously this isn't a widespread issue or we'd have more reports of it.

Luke 42077 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 It looks to me the server is having trouble executing ffmpeg.
