Ponyo 22 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Okay another day, another update and another complete breakdown. Up until last Friday everything was working fine but using Emby today (didn't use it since last Friday), transcoding is now completely and utterly fucked up. Android: Selecting quality doesn't work anymore. You need to back out of the video, resume and then it will pick the quality you want. Changing quality while playing doesn't work anymore. Subtitles now appear to be burned in, even for .srt files while they used to be streamed. Burned subs look ugly and if you want to change subtitles transcoding need to start over. Streamed subs used to work fine, no clue why the hell this had to change. Ow and selecting subtitles doesn't work anymore either. Select whatever you want, nothing shows up. Again you need to back out of the video and resume if you want to have any chance of having subs. Firefox: No. More. Subtitles. Just don't show up anymore. If you select forced subtitles in your account settings they do show but you cannot change subtitle track. Just as on Android subs now suddenly get burned in instead of streamed. Yes I'm running the latest versions of everything and no I'm not going to post any logs check your browser and apps for yourself. Do updates actually receive any testing or are they just pushed out fingers crossed hoping things work? Because every other update things that worked suddenly stop working. I'm having these problems on 4 different devices (2x android, 2x windows) so its not just a fluke. But yeah, here I am on holiday thinking I'd have some time to just watch stuff but instead I'm on the forums again hoping stuff that used to work gets fixed again.
Ponyo 22 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) Okay this has something to do with remote access. If I VPN into my server and access Emby by IP it appears to work OK on Firefox and Android, at least as far as video playback is concerned. Seems like other stuff broke down as well. For example I cannot remove any subtitles anymore. Not even if I log on to the server machine itself and try removing subs from the localhost web interface. Who knows what else isn't working. Luke 42085 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hi there, we're sorry to hear about this, but I tested everything you mentioned in firefox, chrome, and android and saw no problems. Subtitles were delivered via text and not burned in, and i was able to switch. If you can supply the info requested in how to report a media playback issue, then we'll do our very best to help you. Thanks.
