Beardyname 198 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 So i tried installing the plugin for podcasts, and i can't get it to work properly. I have tried adding 2 different shows, This one : http://thehandsomenerd.com/feed/podcast/ And another random one i found in the description for the plugin, none of them seems to work. Here is the log : http://pastebin.com/DTCn1J96 Should i try other ones ?
ebr 16169 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 What does "can't get it to work properly" mean? That log does not contain a podcast refresh. You will need to run that task and then post the log. How to Report a Problem
Beardyname 198 Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 @@ebr meaning it won't play in the web-ui, latest podcast refresh was 18 hours ago, doing one now. Still nothing, pressing play brings forward the controllers for media and then nothing/silence server-log : http://pastebin.com/ztujqsvy ffmpeg log was empty tried pressing play a few more times gave me this : http://pastebin.com/5kH3jJ6w
ebr 16169 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Okay, but they are there and show all data etc? Do they play in MB Classic?
Beardyname 198 Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 @@ebr Firefox 27.0, tested with chrome 31.0.1650.63 they both receive the same error. And yep i can see the different episodes etc, they just wont play. I don't currently have mbc installed, will try that out and report back.
Beardyname 198 Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 @@ebr strange enough it does play in MBC now i don't have a clue to whats wrong :/ Also will it be possible in the future to tell the plugin to grab the feed and store it locally ? maybe i should write this in the request forum
ebr 16169 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 No, I don't think we will attempt to download feeds. @@Tikuf - is this a known issue streaming podcasts to the web client?
Tikuf 663 Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Not that I was aware of but it looks like a bug where we are calling ffmpeg -i file:"http://thehandsomenerd.com/podpress_trac/feed/900/0/Meta-Episode014.mp3" blah Using file protocol where we should just be calling ffmpeg -i "http://thehandsomenerd.com/podpress_trac/feed/900/0/Meta-Episode014.mp3" blah @@Luke

ebr 16169 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Are you an MB Supporter? Podcasts is a supporter-only plug-in. The notification of the failure should have indicated that the plug-in was expired.
gator99 5 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 It didn't give a not. And currently I am not a supporter Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk

gator99 5 Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 thank you I see that message in the notices but where does it direct you to "become a supporting member" - although most of the time I don't like persitant notification about buying something - this notification and plugin never let's you know this. Where do I sign up and support you all?

Erik 124 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Hi, Just wondered if there is a way to play audio only podcasts. They don't seem to want to play, but the video ones are ok. Thanks.
Erik 124 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Sorry, forgot the details. I was trying it through the web browser (IE11) and also the ios app. It recognizes it ok but why I hit play nothing happens in the browser and the ios just never stops saying loading. Also here is the podcast link: http://www.cbc.ca/podcasting/includes/vinylcafe.xml Thanks
ebr 16169 Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Yeah, this has been a problem for a while. I don't think audio podcasts work in our streaming engine. @@Tikuf? They should play fine in MBC (and maybe MBT).
