e123enitan 275 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) I don't often review my devices as there is only handful of them (5), but what I observed this last week as rebuild two or three of Kodi clients, was on the server device list each one displayed more than once, so it appears that each that I rebuild my kodi and it connects to the server it is listed as a new device with identical names. So as I decided to clean unwanted or redundant list, I'm not sure which of this is valid. Therefore my thought is if It possible to so build in addition to the device name an IP and MAC address info, therefore if the same device with MAC/IP already been present on the server table tries to reestablish itself a new one it would be rejected, this might eliminate duplicates NOT SURE if this may speed up authentication and play state of media files. That been said, it could be I have overlooked that certain settings which could have prevented this issue, I will appreciate if someone could point this out, thanks in advance. Just a thought hope it make sense! Edited August 9, 2016 by e123enitan
bluemonkey07 590 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 There was some talk with the kodi addon devs regarding a method to ensure a kodi device keeps a constant device id which would solve this issue
