billneftleberg 3 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 emby has always been a great program but ever since i updated both the server and windows 10 last week emby server and emby theater has gotten very tempermental. it gives me many cannot process that command errors and i often need to restart emby theater Legacy version 5 or 6 times to connect its very frustrating heres a copy of my log theater-63606318284.txt server-63606214104.txt

billneftleberg 3 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 since the update to redstone threshold 2 emby server loads and i can connect to dashboard in a browser window and watch shows from there easily but legacy doesnt load ... or if it does its after turning it off 5 or 6 times. most times i get a stream of:" there was an error processing the request" messages then i close it and restart it ans then it gives me a screen like http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb88/poet58/emby%20windows%20emby%20theater.jpg and ot just sits there none of the individual show tiles ever populate the screen the windows 10 app from the windows 10 store from 7 illusions goes to the login screen and even recognizes the 2 servers that i and my mom have running. but never connects to either server beyond the login screen as these images show http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb88/poet58/emby%20windows%20app%201.jpg http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb88/poet58/emby%20windows%20app%202.jpg we have 2 servers running on 2 different pc's. one server on a machine each, because we like different shows the emby smart player app from the windows 10 store from blue bit solutions does work but the images seemingly never update for shows so we have like 80 shows with cover images and 1000 without cover images, looks kinda funky, after how nice the emby theater and emby windows 10 app used to look but st least the emby smart player actually connects.....so despite the way it appears we use that app. http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb88/poet58/emby%20windows%20app%203.jpg for the life of me i cant figure this out

There's a true UWP version in store, you should just need to update the app. The current version is 4.0.88, the screenshots are from v3.4.. Can you please try with the updated version and see if the problem persists? Thanks

7illusions 1249 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 In that case the Win10 version you're running isn't Threshold 2 (Anniversary Edition). The latest version of the app requires Windows 10 Build 14393. If you run Windows Update, is there a update for you?
SilentAssassin 96 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 You can easily tell if you have the Anniversary Update as you have an icon on the right of the clock in the system tray for the action centre. Those screenshots don't have that icon so he is not using the Anniversary Update.

TH2 is also Known as the 1511 edition.. from november 2015 The New Anniversary edition is codenamed Redstone 1 and have build number 10.0.14393 and version 1607 Go to Settings/system/about and it shows your version and build number. Guest asrequested Posted August 12, 2016 Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) I'm getting some serious playback issues, though. The same as I reported here, but in this case, the lip sync is maintained. When skipping using the progress bar and mouse, it takes 10 - 15 seconds to start playing again. Live Tv takes about as long to start, too. But it looks great. I just can't use it....yet! Not sure, but I don't believe others running this version are having the same issue (I did have other issues though). The best bet might be upgrade to the Anniversary Edition and try the new UWP app.

But 7illunions said he needed to upgrade to the latest version of the app, which is only possible if you upgrade to the latest update of windows 10.
billneftleberg 3 Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 (edited) i downgraded from 10.0.14393 and version 1607 to build 10586.494 TODAY (08/12/2016) specifically to try and solve this issue i did this because my mom needs to watch her shows shes 77 and this is what she enjoys, so if i have to stick to an olderversion of windows so be it. its my mother and i owe her my life..... anyway: now emby theater (legacy) works again im still getting a few unable to process that command errors, but not nearly as many as under windows 10.0.14393 version 1607 so thats good. emby smart player still works which is great even if its merely a basic web browser implementation of emby.... 7 illusions still will not connect even though it does recognize both servers (moms and mine as well. it even has mine listed twice though its all the same server info. it just never connects. even when i try to manually sign in......it hust never does anything but at least my mom has her shows back and shes happy which in the end is what matters it cost me a couple of sleepless days and nights reinstalling everything on my pc and getting it where it was before the windows 10 upgrade but thats just how it goes i guess take it as a positive that my 77 year old mom loves her emby and brags about how great it is to all her coffee klatch friends how great it is to have all her old shows available on demand to her, and how they all wish they had it...... the entire emby staff should feel proud that even those with very little technical savvy can enjoy what they've created. my mom could never figure this out on her own.....but still she cant live without it.....Imagine that!!!! for user 7illusions, i redownloaded your app fresh today i dont think its version 4 because im no longer on the newest version of windiws. but in either case its not working. i dont know what to say.....it was a great app before i upgraded to the new windows though im including the log file jusyt in case it can help others emby store app log.txt Edited August 12, 2016 by billneftleberg

If the servers are running on the same machine as the client, make sure the loopback exclusion is still in effect after the downgrade you did. A quick check would be to see if you can connect to either server. If neither one works then something else is going on

If neither one works then something else is going on thanks for the idea vicpa, i was hoping that might work since i did once need the loopback manager but alas the emby store app still wont logon.....even when i try manually with emby connect...it just says logon fails, even though it works on my tablet and pc its just that one app the log which is attached is long but i cant see what the error is server-63606664198.txt Edited August 13, 2016 by billneftleberg
