stratumorien 10 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Everything was working perfectly until arriving home this evening and now all videos begin to play but then spontaneously stop playback within minutes of start. Noticed a server update was installed today. Using Emby App (Andriod) on Nvidia Shield as client Emby Server on Windows 7 Thanks in advance Brian Log transcode.txt Log.txt
Luke 42080 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Hi, try disabling quick sync and see if that makes a difference. thanks.
stratumorien 10 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Quick sync is not a setting i am familiar with off hand as kids are watching shows via chromecast. is this server or client side setting? Bri
Luke 42080 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Server side under playback. It is off by default so you would have had to enable it.
rbeier1221 2 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I am having the same issue playing through my Fire Stick. As of the previous update I was having issues with freezing if I skipped ahead on a show. Now it has gotten worse and I cannot play anything for more then a few seconds. I am not seeing the quick sync setting anywhere under playback.
stratumorien 10 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 oh, the hardware acceleration "intel quick sync". I enabled this as it seem to help with CPU usage when transcoding. Server is running on an Intel NUC I will disable and try... but was working good this past weekend no issue tilm today.
stratumorien 10 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Same behavior on playback eith the setting at "none"
Luke 42080 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Same behavior on playback eith the setting at "none" there's actually something particular about your avi file that i'd like to look at. can you provide a sample file for testing? thanks.

stratumorien 10 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) note that this and other files played fine over weekend. Also that the problem is not limited to this file but all files I try to play from shield (Android TV) appThese files do not have playback issue through chrome browser on PC, ipad app, or samsung android phone app, or even when casted to shield through mobile device app Edited August 9, 2016 by stratumorien
bebaldin 1 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Same problem here. All my MKVs that played fine up until the 3050 install now play about 10 seconds and jump to the next file.
bebaldin 1 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Issue confirmed with Server 3.0.6050. I downloaded and rolled back the Windows installation to 3.0.6030 and playback issues were fixed immediately. I also have a test installation running on a Thecus NAS N5500 (3.0.6020) and there are no playback issues with the same files.
Luke 42080 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Hi, can you enable debug logging under Logs in the server dashboard, restart the server, then test again? Thanks!
Jonathon 5 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I am having the same issue with the FireTV app. All of the avi's I have tried with 6050 will not play, but worked fine on 6030. I have tried a few mkv's that will work on 6050. I can provide some sample files if needed.
Luke 42080 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I've posted 3.1.97 to the server beta channel. can you try it out and let me know if it resolves the issue? thanks.
rbeier1221 2 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 Beta build seems to fix this issue, but I've only had time for limited testing.
Jonathon 5 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I just setup a server running the beta build, but won't be home for a few more hours to try it out and report back.
stratumorien 10 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Apologies for a late response. The beta build fixed the playback issue. Media files are playing to completion. Thank you. Note that I have a new un-related issue. In my "Peppa Pig" Series folder I have three seasons of videos each in subfolders. In season two allvideos up to episode 25 have no meta info and say "enull". These videos all play fine. The remaining episodes have downloaded meta information but when attempting to play video the "play" button does not respond. No error, no attempt at playback. I am not sure how to isolate the cause. Brian
bebaldin 1 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I just got home and loaded 3060 on my server and it appears all is working fine now. No issues at all with playback. Thank you!!!!!
stratumorien 10 Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 disregard my added question above. I will make a new thread if I need to pursue support on this specific issue. Apologies and thanks for the fix on playback.
