Changing User Name

Can I safely change the username on a profile and not lose all its settings and watched indicators? When I first setup emby a few months back I just let it name the default user the computer's name. Now I would like to change that user's login name to something different but I don't want to lose all the watched indicators.

Shouldn't be an issue since I believe they are stored by "userId=" in database not display name.

I actually do want to change the user id, not just the display name. Or can the watched status be copied over to a new user?

Well changing a users name is a matter of going to that user in Dashboard-Users and changing there name.  But it sounds like you are talking about adding a new user not changing a name.

 

With the Server Configuration Backup you can sync one users information to another/new user.  You need to run the a backup first to store all the information then create the new user, then use the plugin restore option and only select "User Playstate, Favorites, Resume, etc." option for that new user.
