Tassadar 0 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 I have Emby server installed and running from a windows 10 machine perfectly. My question is this... are we able to delete files remotely (in my case, using Roku)? When I try to delete a video file, a confirmation window shows up and when I click on "yes", it blinks, but file is still there. Then I tried marking the file as "watched" and deleting, which it appears to do so, but while the file is gone from Roku, it is still sitting on the server machine. Under ideal circumstances, when deleting a file, I would like it completely removed even from the server. Any advice appreciated CC
speechles 2055 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 The official roku app cannot delete anything except liveTV recordings. If you use the blue neon app on your roku this will allow delete from your library. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk

The files I am attempting to delete are actually recorded liveTV files, but they were recorded by Hauppauge's WinTV 8. Does not mean I will not be able to delete them as Emby is not recording them?
speechles 2055 Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 Try the blue neon app and see if this deletes them. If it does, and the official app does not, then you are correct. You can have both the blue neon app and official app share the homescreen on your roku. Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk
Tassadar 0 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 Thanks again speechles. I have installed the recommended app, will try tonight and will post my results tomorrow.
Tassadar 0 Posted August 9, 2016 Author Posted August 9, 2016 speechles, your recommendation works great. Thank you.
