QuickSync and recorded TV .ts files ?

Hi,

 

Has anyone tried Intel Quicksync on ts recorded TV files ?  The ones produced by NextPVR and all the others.

Other files work fine but none of the recorded TV.

 

I captures the transcode log if this helps.

Maybe there is something about the input that the quick sync decoder can't handle?

Yep - I know it is not 'official' yet - but I would think loads of people would store their files as TS and not have them sync to a more readable format (takes ages).

Not necessarily. I think people are starting to see the benefits of mp4. have you tried the built in live tv support? we can convert to mp4 on the fly during the recording process.

I use the NextPVR plugin as my HDHomerun tuners are the older network ones and not the new native supported ones - but I have three of them so a large investment to just throw away.  You prob dont remember that ages back I reported issues deleting the watched recordings via the NextPVR plugin and your recommendation was to add an Emby library over the location of the recordings (which are .ts format natively), which has been working fine to date.  If there is a better way of doing all this, then I am happy to implement it.  We hardly ever watch liveTV or view the guide on the roku's so that has been moved to the bottom of the list.

Hi, - more info - the reason I had to move from NextPVR plugin to this folder in in this thread :

 

'Loading, Please wait' randomly when watching via Roku'

 

I never did get any update on that issue.

Quick Sync with ffmpeg is still relatively new so I'm sure that it continues to improve with every ffmpeg release.

I have an HDHomerun Prime. I have the server set to covert to MP4 while recording and preserve the audio. The quality is great and the file size is reduced by half. And I have QS enabled

Mine are the older type HDHomeRun Dual's - they cant do anything like that unfortunately.  They are very old.  Only the direct stream is passed to the devices for viewing/recording.  Been using them since WMC many years ago.
