I just noticed today in my logs, it seems Emby is unable to write to my storage drive.

Emby is running under my microsoft admin account. It has read/write permissions to the shares. However, on the same shares, there's also the Everyone account which only has read access. For some reason, Emby is accessing the shares using Everyone account instead of admin. This wasn't an issue prior to upgrading to windows 10. Let me know if you need more info provided.

Running: 3.1.89.0

Towards the end of my log, Emby was able to write because as a test I added write permission to Everyone. But adding writing permission to everyone is not what I want to do. I just want Emby to use my admin account which is already running under - Or add an option to tell Emby which user to use...

UnauthorizedAccessException is a generic exception thrown by the framework and there could be other reasons aside from permissions why it might occur, like if some other program is reading the file at the same time, then that would prevent the server from being able to write to it.

Ok, I will try disabling write access again and see what happens. Thanks for your reply as usual :) The only other program that has access to tv shows nfo is sonarr.

Ok, turns out I needed to run the server as administrator. It needed elevated permissions unlike in windows 7 even if the account running the server is admin.

I went to: appdata/roaming/emby-server/system/

Right click MediaBrowser.ServerApplication > properties > compatibility > Run this program as administrator.

Then everything started working as before.

I had this issue recently, the server will not auto start with I do as you have set. I have to manully start it after every os reboot. I tried setting up run as service but that disables the Emby tray and I like that feature for quick E.S restarting. Any idea?

Ignore this, I managed to get it working.
