asnguy01 0 Posted August 3, 2016 Posted August 3, 2016 I'm planning to get the HDHomerun Prime to use with Time Warner Cable. If anybody has experience with this setup, please let me know. I hope to play Live TV channels with direct play. I'm thinking of the Amazon Fire TV 2 because other better apps with leanback features compared to regular Android TV apps (ie Playstation Vue, NBA League Pass).
squirrellydw 9 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I have a Prime and use Verizon Fios, works great except for a few channels like CNN and Nbcsn. It won't play at 60fps or is interlaced and looks blurry. If they fix that it would be perfect

asnguy01 0 Posted August 5, 2016 Author Posted August 5, 2016 Yup Which one do you prefer, the Emby or HDHomerun app? Just looking at the Google Play page for HDHomerun app, it doesn't seem to have a fullscreen guide.
Kramerika 18 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 I have an HDHomerun for over-the-air TV only with no cable TV involved, but I use Emby Live TV in tandem with a Schedules Direct account to get a 14-day schedule and DVR capability on my Amazon Fire TVs and Shield TV. I also have the HDHomerun app installed on them as a backup in case Emby has issues, but the guide in that app only goes out several hours and does not allow for DD 5.1 sound.
squirrellydw 9 Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) I use the Emby app, I can't stand the HDHOMERUN app. If they would just fix the issue I mentioned it would be perfect. Not sure if it works better on the Appletv or Shield. Edited August 5, 2016 by squirrellydw
