Easiest way to download more fanart for existing videos

I apologize if this has been answered already.  I did a search but couldn't find anything that was totally clear on this.

 

I would like to download additional fanart for my movies and shows.  When increasing the count in the settings, it only loads artwork for newly added shows.  I figured that going into the metadata manager and refreshing metadata for all shows and movies would do the trick, but it did not.  Instead, I just ended up deleting my database files and re-added the sources into Emby.  Is there a better way to accomplish this?

the metadata manager method will do it, it's just that there is currently no way to monitor it so it may lead you to think it's not working, but it does refresh them.

I see.  I refreshed it, gave it a few hours, and saw not art updating so I just assumed it didn't do what I thought it would.  When I had the metadata refresh to the que, how long should I expect it to take to begin updating artwork?

I would check your log and see if it is still processing your library.
