Multi-Disc Movies, Disc Selection

Maybe this just isn't in yet, but in MBT, if I have movie that is two discs (BD ISO rips like movie.Disc1.iso and movie.Disc2.iso), how can I choose to play disc 1 or 2?

It hasn't been implemented into either MBTheater or MBClassic. I think you can get around it by opening up the MB in ur webrowser and selecting the second file manually and selecting the remote icon to send it to MBT or MBC. I'm pretty sure its possible like that. Its not ideal, but it works and with smart phones and tablets everywhere u probably have one sitting near by like ur TVs remote control

The recommendation right now is to use something like MKVMerge to combine the files into a single comtainer.

Or, in your case with ISOs just make them separate movies labeled Disc 1 and Disc 2.

Be careful with MKVMerge.  I used it for the LOTR original trilogy (extended editions) and not only did it take a massive amount of space (OK, not a huge deal for me) but the audio kept getting "wonky."  It was like the channels would get scrambled.  I never did figure it out after several people trying to help, so I just have a folder for each disc (yes, 6 total for the trilogy) and I just grab the meta data for disc 1 of each set and copy it to disc 2.  I then edited the main image to have a (using the LOTR font) 1 or 2 on it and put them in the appropriate disc folder.  So when I get to the LOTR movies in MBT, I see all 6, and Fellowship has the same image, but a 1 for disc 1 and a 2 for disc 2.

Mfusick was showing me elsewhere on how to set up a nice collection, so you get one main entry for something like "LOTR Trilogy" and then you go in there and it opens up to the other movies.  I just never implimented it as I was told that at some point MB would have improved support for collections and multi-disc movies.  For me it isn't super critical to come up with a better solution in the meantime.

I don't know if this is the best method or not, if anyone has a better suggestion please let me know:

I have been experimenting with this lately and have had a workable setup with, for example, Das Boot Director's Cut with the Side A/Side B format.  I store all my movies in iso format.

I created a main folder called Das Boot as a boxset and that seeded the collection.xml file, then I removed the boxset label from the folder name.  Then I created subfolders Das Boot - Part 1 and Das Boot - Part 2.  They detected properly as movie folders and all images and movie.xml populated to those folders.

Then I copied all images/artwork to the main Das Boot folder and deleted poster.jpg from the Part 1 and Part 2 subfolders.  This allows the main Das Boot folder to show cover art and the Part 1/Part 2 folders to show an image pulled from the beginning of the actual iso files for the parts.

Last steps were locking the metadata for the main folder and subfolders, copying metadata to collection.xml from the movie.xml file, and then removing the genres from the Part1/Part2 metadata so that I didn't get the cover art AND the movie scene images from the parts showing in the genre display.  Something similar may need to be done for other types of sorts.

That's where I'm at now.  Will be trying the LOTR extended version next so we'll see how this setup works under subfolders in an actual boxset scenario.  This is all in MBC, by the way...
