Garbonzo17 26 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I did a longer message and the Fire TV section because I have the same problem with the Android TV app on my firestick but I'll try to keep this short (which is sometimes hard because I'm voice dictating this and I tend to ramble) Is there anywhere or anyway I can make the subtitle settings sticky it's a minor annoyance I understand but when I've been watching a series or something for every episode I have to go down and turn the subtitles on... It just seems like in the general setting somewhere you should be able to turn them on or the last selection you made could be sticky... Either way be fine. Thanks in Advance, -g Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
Luke 42077 Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Explore your user preferences in the web interface by clicking your user icon in the top right. from there you can set your default subtitle behavior for all apps.
Garbonzo17 26 Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Yeah. I had already done that... it doesn't toggle for the Roku or Android TV app, they still default to off. The server is set to fetch the subs, which it does, and I have it default to "external" subs.. (.srt) I think what's going on is the app sees an MKV container which "could" have subs, and defaults to that. However, when no subtitles are embedded it should default to external. I still have to cursor down and manually turn them on. Every single time. -p
ebr 16172 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 You set that option to "Always play subtitles"?
Koleckai Silvestri 1154 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 For the Roku, you have to make sure that subtitles are turned on in the system settings as well.
