jds828 24 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Sorry if this has been talked about, I've not had chance to have a good look over the forum. Problem: I have removed some folders and swapped drives on some with library updates and cleared cache after each. In my TV seasons it is showing 125 episodes in one that only has 23 episodes. It's showing up to 6 of each, plus ones I don't even have. The other odd thing I noticed was some are listed as 480p. I never rip BR to 480p so not sure where that's coming from. This has happened to all my TV collection which was perfect the last time I looked, I'm not sure when it started but it's very annoying. Any ideas? Or is it time to call it a day and start again? Thanks
jds828 24 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 It seems that Emby is now including all episodes of a TV series no matter what folder it's in. For instance, I have x264 TV and x265 TV folders in my library. If a series has 100 episodes, they both show up with 200 in each. Devs, if your not too busy, can you let me know if this is a known issue and it's getting fixed. Or is it time to start again. Thanks
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 Do you have the same shows in both formats 264/265? If so this would be the effects of series pooling.
jds828 24 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 Series Pooling? And yes I do. The point being that I re encode to x265 to test quality compared to space used as I have a decent sized library. It never happened with my itunes files which also had a lot of duplicate series. I assume that was because one was an mkv and the other an m4v. So back to this "Series Pooling" is it something that was requested or another feature that turned up? I know this only happened recently and I've been testing x265 for about 8-12 months. I don't get the same problem in Kodi or Plex so any ideas why Emby has started doing it? Thanks
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 What server version are you on? Not sure if this made it to Stable build or not. Topic for Series Pooling, yes this is a heavily requested feature and hopefully becomes optional.
jds828 24 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 I was on the beta for months but when I first noticed this I was on stable... I tried beta again but still the same. And yes, If it is another feature, it needs an option button without doubt. As it stands now there's zero point in creating separate folders as Emby just pools them together. I just can't get my head round why it would be wanted in the first place. Each to their own I suppose. Thanks for the help. 1
Happy2Play 9783 Posted July 19, 2016 Posted July 19, 2016 For all those people that don't take advantage of drive pooling software and fill disks one by one so everything gets spread out.
jds828 24 Posted July 19, 2016 Author Posted July 19, 2016 Really? Or can't be bothered to sort their library out themselves. Well that's Emby not getting used due to a "feature" again!, I often wonder why I paid for it in the first place.
