User settings save across all users

I was attempting to set different playback settings for different users on my server but it appears that when ever I change it on one it saves across them all. The biggest reason this is an issue for me is I have an account for a friend to access my server out of network that I want to default to a lower bandwidth on but for my personal account I want no such limits.

Hi, there is no way to set bandwidth for individual users right now. You can set a global external bitrate limit under Playback -> Streaming, but that will affect you as well when outside of your home network. You can't configure in-app settings from the server, simply because those settings may need to be set based on the device and other environmental factors, so it really needs to be in-app. It sounds like you might want to create a feature request topic about bandwidth-limiting per user.
