Ponyo 22 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Hi, I noticed streaming setting on the server and inside user profiles are ignored. User max bitrate settings ate honored when using an app but are ignored from the browser. The max bitrate setting on the server is always ignored with the app/browser always picking the highest bitrate if the user profile is set to auto. Other profile settings are ignored as well. For example I got my account set up to always use English subtitles but instead emby always picks Dutch subtitles (it picks the first sub it finds). By the way if you use something like the mobile Firefox browser on android the wrong art is sometimes displayed (actor instead of backdrop, actors shown with an incorrect picture ) and it's impossible to seek with the built in player. Desktop browser and android app do show the right art.
ebr 16194 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Using what app? Can you pick a single example and submit the specifics for it? Thanks.
Ponyo 22 Posted July 17, 2016 Author Posted July 17, 2016 Server side max bitrate settings are ignored no matter if I'm using a app or browser. On android whatever bitrate I set under profile gets respected but if I set it to auto it doest max out at whatever I've set under max bitrate on the server. It just picks the highest possible. On firetv whatever bitrate you set in app settings is respected. Didn't test with auto settings to see if the server max bitrate is respected. On Firefox again the server max bitrate setting is ignored and it just picks the highest possible. All tested over wan. Sent from my HTL23 using Tapatalk
pünktchen 1409 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Keep in mind, the server side max bitrate setting will not work in your local network! 1
sh0rty 718 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 All tested over wan. You're not using a VPN connection possibly?
Luke 42085 Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Yea it's the local network most likely. I just tested with the browser and android app over remote connections, no problem found. Worked fine there.
Ponyo 22 Posted July 18, 2016 Author Posted July 18, 2016 All over remote networks without vpn. Sent from my HTL23 using Tapatalk
Luke 42085 Posted July 18, 2016 Posted July 18, 2016 Ok, we're very sorry to hear about this. Please supply the info requested in how to report a media playback issue so that we can properly diagnose. Thanks!
