I'm looking for a solution where I can shuffle episodes of a TV show and it will only select unplayed shows. 

I installed the plugin but it doesn't load. 

Any help much appreciated.

I just googled something similar and came across this post which brought me here.

I'm not sure how to use the smart playlist feature (although I do have it)

Smart views sounds great though; my want/use case would be to surface particular movies (i.e. seasonal like Christmas or Halloween) as a "collection" that can be shared as a library so that other users can access them. We have Christmas movies in various libraries (i.e. children/grown up), but being able to pull them into a single place would be great. I assumed this could be done on tags. I've also got Genre cleaner setup, and although I have Christmas and holiday, I don't seem to have anything in them.

I know you are working on this and I don't want to sound like a little bitch, but as it has been said before this is the most requested feature of all time and has been promised for almost 10 years now! And for the latest beta all we see is "people query fix" and "image extraction fix"... I truly want to support you with the lifetime subscription but this is the types of things that makes me hesitant.

I got tired of waiting (over a year) so switched to Jellyfin for my videos. It has a nice plugin that actually works.

Enjoy. 
But most people in this board already have this journey behind them. 
Emby development time is slower, but it is steady. 
JF has phases with basically zero development. There's being work done when folks feel like it would help the reputation of their github-profile, and then it's being put aside for years. 
They still haven't finished the DB-rewrite for example which creates a plethora of problems in other sections of this whole software-package.
And they cannot fix it because they struggle with the complexity of it. 
After all those years they did not even manage to remove the traces of Emby from the code, because it's simply too much. 
I would call Emby "stable" and "constantly maintained", whereas i certainly wouldn't call JF that way. 
In the end you have to choose what's more important to you.

This has been the most requested feature since 2016, tomorrow it will be 2026 and there's still no sign of it being released

As the person that started this trend (not the demand for the feature), I wish you good luck. Do I wish to have the feature soon, of course. Will I threaten to leave if I don't get my wish, NO!, I'm still here over 10 years.

I still believe in Emby. I believe that once we get the feature, it will not disappoint.

I've asked before, but it would be nice to have more homescreen options to make it more Netflixy. I've held off buying Premiere as Emby is solid, but not scratching all the itches I have for customization.

 

Jellyfin has a plugin that does EXACTLY what I want and what OP is asking for. If it can be done there, why can't we have something similar?
