Headphone Problems with 5.1 files

Hello,

 

I have the following Problem:

 

Watching a movie or a TV-Show with headphones: everything what the actors says is only on the right headphone. Music and soundeffects are on both left and right. This is really annoying.

 

Info of the file:

 

Codec: AAC
Codec Tag: mp4a
Profil: LC
Darstellung: 5.1
Channels: 6 ch
Bitrate 640 kbps
Sample Rate 48000 khz

 

 

It works correctly when I play a file with:

 

Darstellung: stereo
Channels: 2 ch

 

 

What do I have to change in Emby to play 5.1 6ch files with a proper playback on headphones? When I play these files with Mediaplayer or VLC it works fine.

Hi, I wanted to know if it's transcoding or not, and if transcoding, I wanted to see how it was doing it. Thanks, in this case, it's direct playing the video to firefox so the situation is unfortunately out of our control.

 

A few things you can try:

• Lower the quality to force transcoding, although this will be more work for your cpu
• See if you observe better results with another browser such as Chrome

I tried with transcoding but I get the same error.

Then I  tried Chrome and it works!

 

As it seems the problem is firefox though I have no idea why.
